Day 01: Arrive in Srinagar:
On your arrival in Srinagar, you will be transferred to the houseboats. The day will be spent in complete leisure as you take on to the breathtaking views of the surroundings. In the afternoon we will take you on a short tour of the inland waterways onboard a small moving boat known as the Shikara. After a well spend 2 hours exploring the lake are we will head back to the boat for our overnight stay. B&D included
Day 02: Sightseeing In Srinagar:
Our first visit will be to the Shankaracharya temple. The drive goes uphill goes through a dense forest. The temple has stood on the hill for more then a millennium and is said to be the seat of the Great Adi Shankaracharya. Later we will visit the famous Mughal gardens known as Pari Mahal and Cheshma Shahi. The ruined Pari Mahal palace, was built by the erstwhile Mughal dynasty, and is perched on a small hill overlooking the lake and the world famous Royal Springs golf course. We will then visit the Cheshma Shahi springs and the famous Mughal gardens of Nishat and Shalimar. The Nishat and Shalimar gardens were built on a symmetrical plan of a central waterway with fountains dividing a series of gardened terraces . Nishat lies on the shores of the lake and was laid out in 1633. It is the largest of all the Royal gardens . The gardens on either sides of the water course are planted with tall Chinar trees, which you can see at their best in Spring. A couple of kilometers further on is the Shalimar garden built for Nur Jahan by her husband , the Mughal Emperor Jahangir . The central black marble pavilion in the Zenana or Ladies’ garden is surrounded by water and looks out in four directions . Below in the Diwan -i – Am , the hall of Public Audiences the Emperor used to sit on a black marble throne above the water. Afterwards we will drive back to the houseboat for overnight stay. Day 03: Srinagar to Gulmarg: (110 km’s / full day trip):
We will leave for another famous mountain resort in the morning. The resort is located on a high mountain plate, and is closely associated with some famous winter sports held every year. We will drive through rice fields and small towns and eventually drive uphill surrounded by thick pine forests to arrive at the bowl shaped open meadow of Gulmarg. Known locally by the name of Valley of Flowers the resort is encircled by huge mountains, glistening with their snow capped peaks and lush forests. We will also board the Swiss styled Gondola that takes us to the top of the mountain and provides a rare sight of the valley.In the evening we will drive back to Srinagar. Overnight in hotel. B&D included.
Day 04: Srinagar to Pahalgam: (190 km’s / full day trip):
After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive on the national highway to explore yet another mountain resort of Kashmir. The valley of Pahalgam locally known as The Shepherds Village is by far the most famous of the three resorts known in Kashmir. With lush tropical forests and beautiful rivers and streams, the valley is tucked deep into the mountains and is known for its beauty and landscape. We arrive in Pahalgam and commence our sightseeing in small side valleys. After our sightseeing of the day we will drive back to Srinagar. Overnight in hotel. B&D included.
Day 05: Depart from Srinagar:
After breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight home.
